Chrcompleted the 2022 Haselbury Trailrace in 36:28 ahead of second place Wayne Loveridge. Wayne did 36:41 but was last years winner in 37:59, a real indication that the route was in great condition. Kerry Board from Axe Valley Runners was first lady in 48:52.

The weather was perfect and the route was dry and firm. Many of the traditional styles have been replaced by gates which can only improve times.

We hope all competitors enjoyed the race, there was certainly a party atmosphere during the evening. Hot food was provided by the Friends of Haselbury School and the bar was manned by North Perrott Cricket Club members. Route marshals were all from Crewkerne Running Club, we learned long ago that the best marshals for a race are people who are runners themselves. BIG thanks to all involved.

Green credentials! This is a ‘plastic cup free’ race so please always bring your own cup. Having said that we certainly do not want anyone to suffer dehydration for lack of a cup so a very limited number of cups will be available and will be recycled after the race.

Our trophies are hand made from local stone and recycled hardwood, no air-miles involved at all.

It is 40 years since Crewkerne Running Club was first established so the race souvenir this year is a whisky glass suitably engraved.

We are continually trying to minimise the use of plastic marking tape by using signs we have made and laminated to also reduce air-miles.
